In somewhat better news, I do have an internship this summer, so that’s good.  Once the summer is over, though, who knows what I’ll be doing.  Time will tell.

Next week is Senior Week, which I am incredibly looking forward to.  Cubs game, dances, last week with friends, and the graduation.  I can’t believe the past four years have gone so quickly.

Not much to say.  Just wanted to update.

Graduation in a little less than a month.  Where did all the time go?

Internship for the summer.  Can’t decide if that’s a good or bad thing.  Good because it’ll be experience, and it should be fun, and I’ll be at home, living for relatively free.  Bad because I want a job and to move to my own place.

Looking for jobs.  Applying for jobs.  Difficult.

I’m apparently feeling very minimalist.

As per usual, my time has consisted of doing homework and hanging out with my friends.  Fortunately the weather has been phenomenal lately (I have christened it “boat shoe weather”), which means that every day is awesome.

But yeah, not really that much has happened.  Grant and I went out to dinner on Saturday for Valentine’s, because he had a super awful week and couldn’t do anything on Monday, but that was alright because we got wine.  Then Sunday was Bengal Bouts, so lots of my friends and  I went to watch that.  And Grant was fighting so I got to watch him get beat up; good times.  Also his parents were in town so we went to Chili’s.  Fun fun fun. 

Oh, yesterday I had to give a presentation on communism, which was fun because communism is ridiculous.  I wanted to talk about my love of Chairman Mao but I just couldn’t fit it into the presentation.  Kind of disappointing but probably a good thing.

This last Thursday night I hung out with Isaac and Shea, playing Settlers, having good fun as usual, and then yesterday I was with Eric and Grant, hanging out and watching movies.  Tonight I’m going out, yay, for the first time in a while.  Should be a grand ole time!

And then next week I have two papers and a test.  Bleh.

On Wednesday there was a snow day.  Yes, a snow day.  In college.  It was potentially the most awesome thing to have ever occured.  It was made even better by the fact that by the time I was actually awake and active, the snow had stopped and the sun was shining, and the sky was blue, and it was “warm” and wonderful.  Grant and I went to dinner at The Mark, and it was delicious, and it was just a very good day.

Then it was Anna’s birthday weekend, so Thursday and Friday nights were two different parties, although Thursday wasn’t really a party.  It was more of a ”let’s go to the bar” thing.  But still, I always love Finny’s.  Before the party though, was dinner with my Chinese class, which was as fun as always.

Friday night was the real birthday day, which was flannel themed, so of course I referred to it as a “flarty.”  Yeah, real clever.  But it was a lot of fun, and then afterward I stayed over at Emily’s and we watched some super high-quality YouTube videos.

Saturday was a day.  Ate some food, went to Target, skyped with Lora.  Did lots and lots of homework.  Overall a good day though.

And then Sunday was the SUPERBOWL!!!!  Grant and I made cookies which were then promptly consumed at the fiesta we went to.  And of course, the Packers won, so I was very very happy on Sunday night. 

Then yesterday was just an average day.  At midnight, Grant, K-Mart and I went to Steak and Shake, which was a grand ole time.  I do love midnight milkshakes, especially when they are delicious.  So, always.

It’s been a good week.  Can’t complain too much.  Hopefully the rest of this week, and basically all the days until I write again, will be good as well.

Anyway, not too much going on in the Bend.  Lots of homework.  More homework than I would like.  Lots of hanging out with friends and people.  Lots of watching SportsCenter.  Lots of video games.  Lots of watching people play games, and watching people play sports.  It’s a good time, in general.

This week were Anne’s and KMart’s birthdays, so there were some fun parties and going to bars.   But yeah, really not too much going on.  I just wanted to update so that I would actually update once in a while.  Hopefully things will get more interesting soon.

Anyway, the remained of my winter break went very well.  I watched a lot of television, mostly Dexter, which is a fantastic show, and sat around with my puppies.  I also went out to Minnesota to visit Grant, then he came to Green Bay to hang out with me before we both came back to school.

And at school I am.  My classes this semester should be really interesting.  I’m taking Chinese (of course), International Political Economy, Contentious Politics, and 19th Century European History.  It’s going to require a lot of reading (in fact, I’m taking a break from reading now…on a Saturday) but I think it will be worth it and a generally good time.

My new love of classical music stems from the fact that I hate studying/reading in silence, but popular music is too distracting.  Classical music is just the right kind of ambient noise.  I’m going to try to listen to more of it.

I also want to start keeping up with the news more.  I’m a political science major, so I understand the importance of the news.  I just never really read it.  So I think I’m going to start listening to podcasts or something.  I don’t really know, I just know that I need to know what’s going on in the world.

I should probably get back to reading though.  Contentious politics!  That way I can go play Settlers of Catan with my friends later.

My computer did break, and I was out of town for a while.  Still….fail.

BUT.  It is a new year.  And I will keep up with the blogging much better now.  I swear.  Plus I have a new camera so win.  More pictures.  Maybe I’ll also do better with my photo blog.  Hmm hmm hmm.

Anyway, 2010 was pretty awesome.  Love love love.  China.  D.C.  Notre Dame.  A little bit of time in Wisconsin.  <3

I’m off to go do really important things, no doubt, but I will be back.  Sooner than later.

Umm….last week.  Let’s see.  Career fair on Wednesday; I talked to some places, and am currently filling out applications for real-life.  Gross.  Also looking into grad schools.  Being a senior is stressful.  But that’s only during the week.  The weekend is like, anti-stressful.

Friday night I went to party and a friend’s house.  It was a China reunion party, so I got to see my friends from China that go to ND.  After that, I went to Colin’s birthday party at Mulligan’s.  It was an awesome party, and there were a TON of people there.  So I was there until pretty late, then Anna and I went back to campus.

Saturday I was supposed to get up early to go float in the reflecting pool, but Anna and I had decided the night before that it was going to be too cold and too early.  So I slept in and it was a much better choice.  Then it was time to tailgate!  I was at Eric’s, Molly’s, and also Brice’s, and all three were phenomenal.  People are silly.  Then there was the football game, against Michigan.  It was very sad, because we lost, but at one point, the clouds cleared, the sun starting shining, and there was a rainbow and then we made a touchdown.  That moment alone made the whole game worth it, because it was like God wanted us to win (as we should have, but, you know, we didn’t).  After the game Coleen and I went over to Fisher to watch Se7en with our friends, which instantly spawned our new catchphrase of (see title of this post).  Oh, we also busted out the sporcle, which we hadn’t done for forever.

Yesterday I got up super early to work on homework and applications so that I wouldn’t be busy when the Packer game was on.  So I was over in Fisher watching the first half of the game, then a huge group of us went over to Micheal’s house for dinner, games, and fun.  It was incredible, we had the best dinner conversation I have had in a very long time and my stomach hurt from laughing so much.  I didn’t get to see the second half of the game, but my phone kept me updated, and I am glad to say that the Pack won their first regular season game.  Eventually we all left Micheal’s, and went back to campus.  Surprise, surprise, I went over to Fisher, but this time it was for a reason because I went to mass there, and then afterward it was the triumphant return of Reckers at 11.  Then I made it back to my bed and my awesome weekend was complete.

I have a test today, as I said earlier, and a paper due Friday, but other than that this week looks to be a grand ole time.  The game is away this weekend, so I’m sure we’ll get up to some shenanigans watching it.

Saturday was the first football Saturday of the year!  So exciting.  Campus was packed, as usual, getting ready for an intense game of Notre Dame football.  The day started off fantastically, with a little dip in the Reflecting Pool while the band walked past for marchout.  The water was freezing, and my swimsuit might have been dyed a little blue, but it was super fun, and lots of people took pictures of us.  Silly, silly.  Then afterwards it was time to go tailgate, which basically consists of eating lots of food and playing catch.  However, we did see a leprechaun sleeping under a tree, which was pretty cool.   Also, I managed to see some old friends (like, from elementary school — super old) and that was nice.

Then the game was on!  Our seats this year are pretty good; we’re kind of high up, but we can see everything, and we’re on the 35-yard line, which is awesome.  The game was shenanigans as always, and in the end, Notre Dame walked out with the victory!  It’s really all that anyone asks for.  Ever.

After the game was basically just chilling, Mario Party, TV, friends, the usual.  Then Sunday was homework once again.

My time at school seems to be very, very routine.  But, the breaks in the routine more than make up for the monotony of schoolwork.  I am incredibly sad that this is my last year here, but I’m also gonna make the most of it and have the best time of my life.

(Also, fun fact, it’s been exactly a year since I started this blog.  Oh, how time flies, and oh the adventures I’ve had!)

On Thursday, however, I went to Kildare’s with several friends because Eric’s uncle’s band was playing there.  That was quite a bit of fun, and it was a nice little pub to go hang out at.  After that, a small group of us went to Club Fever, really for no other reason than just going to the Feve.  It’s a joke of a club that everyone makes fun of, but you really do have to go at some point.  So we did, and it was fun. 

Friday was nothing special, just hanging out in Fisher and then making a midnight-thirty MCoke run to Wal-Mart with Lora.

Saturday was lots of fun.  During the day, Anna, Emily, Nicolle, Maria, Shannon, Coleen, Charlie, Isaac, Adam, Michael, Eric and I went out to the Michigan dunes to go to the beach.  Before the beach, we stopped at Redamak’s for some delicious burgers, then headed to the lake.  The water was awesome, the frisbee game was fun, and we all played this silly game called Ninja.  It was a ton of fun.  Eventually we headed back to campus, where I just chilled and accomplished things until it was time for a party!  Yay!  So we went over to a party at our friends’ house, and it was quite a bit of fun.  I spent the night at Lora’s apartment, then when I got back to school on Sunday I did homework.  Not a very exciting day, but the rest of the weekend made up for it.

This week has been more homework and class, but the first football game is this weekend, and I am extremely looking forward to that!
